Hi, I’m Kim Springer, the designer behind KSpringer Designs! I am 26 years old and have been living in Chicago for about 4 years now. Before that, I lived in Tucson, Arizona, where I attended the University of Arizona pursuing a BA in Psychology and Public Health. I grew up in a small town named White Bear Lake in Minnesota. Outside of needlepoint, I love going on walks with my 6-year-old chocolate lab, Oliver!
I’ve always been a creative person. Growing up, I was constantly decorating and redecorating my room to match every holiday and season. I loved having a space that felt like me, and I think that love for color, design, and the little details has carried over into what I do today.
When I discovered needlepoint a few years ago, I quickly realized it was a hobby I wanted to stick with. I started painting canvases for myself and my friends, mostly just for fun. After a few friends encouraged me to start selling my designs, I decided to give it a try! I never really expected it to turn into a business, but here we are. It’s been so fun to turn something I love doing into something I can share with other people.
Recently, I have been putting much more time into KSpringer Designs and have taken on a few wholesale orders. It’s been exciting to see the business grow and to realize that other people enjoy stitching designs that started as little ideas in my own head.
